U.S. News – Best Lawyers® has named Stephenson & Murphy, LLC a Metro Tier 1 Law Firm for both individuals and employers, as well as for labor and employment litigation. Both Tom Stephenson and Brian Murphy have been listed in the confidential peer-review rankings for ten years straight. Murphy has been designated “Lawyer of the Year” for 2016 Employment Law – Individuals. This is the fifth time the Stephenson & Murphy name partners have won the “Lawyer of the Year” designation, which is limited to one recipient per market for a particular practice area.
For the seventh straight year, both partners also were selected for inclusion in SuperLawyers – South Carolina®, another confidential peer- review honor limited to no more than five percent of practicing attorneys. Stephenson finished in the top 10 of all vote recipients for all lawyers in South Carolina (in all practice areas). For the third time in four years, Murphy is a top 25 vote recipient.
Both partners have maintained their “AV”® preeminent ratings from Martindale Hubbell®, which is the highest rating available for professional competence and ethics. The Martindale Hubbell ratings also utilize a confidential peer-review system based on anonymous input from judges and attorneys.
